Overflow: A Church's Journey of Radical Generosity in Just 10 Months

In a world often characterized by self-preservation, one church is demonstrating what it means to live generously from the very beginning. Courageous Church, just ten months into its journey, is redefining what it means to be a local church with a global impact.

What started with just two pastors, Dave and SAS, and four children has blossomed into a vibrant community of 230 people. But numbers alone don't tell the full story. This church has already made an incredible mark through radical generosity and vision.

In their first ten months, they've celebrated remarkable milestones. Over 70 people have experienced salvation, and 27 individuals have been baptized. But beyond these spiritual transformations, the church has committed to making a tangible difference locally and globally.

Locally, they've embraced their city with purpose. During their serve day, they mobilized over 60 people—including children—to make a real difference. They built a ramp for a family struggling with disabilities, created 300 hygiene packs for children in foster care, and supported local charities like Birthright. Their vision is simple yet profound: if Courageous Church didn't exist, the city would genuinely miss them.

Their global vision is equally inspiring. Despite being a young church, they've already given over $20,000 to support church plants and ministries worldwide. They've helped launch churches in Philadelphia, Texas, Cape Town, Chennai, and the UK. Each contribution isn't just about money; it's about transforming lives.

One powerful story exemplifies their mission. They supported Frank and Vilma, a couple trapped in addiction for 14 years. After the church's intervention and support for rehabilitation, they are now leading the Quiver Foundation, helping others break free from addiction.

Their approach to generosity is counterintuitive. They're not giving from abundance, but choosing to give sacrificially. As Pastor Dave shared, there's a difference between giving what you can spare and sowing what you cannot. They've committed to giving over 10% of their income, believing that generosity isn't just an action, but a core identity.

Looking ahead to 2025, their vision is "Limitless Growth." They're not just dreaming—they're planning. They aim to outgrow their current location, double their serve team, launch a youth ministry, and continue supporting global church plants.

Their message is clear: generosity isn't about the amount, but the heart behind the giving. Whether it's $10 or $10,000, what matters is the willingness to trust God and invest in people's lives.

As they take communion and their overflow offering, their prayer is simple: to be a church that reflects God's abundant love, a community that gives generously and sees transformation happen both locally and globally.

In just ten months, Courageous Church is proving that when a community commits to radical generosity, incredible things can happen.
